Indirect spectrophotometric determination of Mebendazole using n-bromosuccinimide as an oxidant and tartarazine dye as analytical reagent

A simple indirect spectrophotometric method for determination of mebendazol in pure and pharmaceutical formulation was presented this study. UV-Visible spectrophotometry using the optimal conditions developed mebendazole drug different preparation samples. The is based on oxidation by n-bromosuccinimide with hydrochloric acid left amount oxidizing agent determined reaction tartarazine absorbance measured at 428 nm. Calibration curves were linear range 5 to 30 µg.mL-1 molar absorptivity 8437.2 L.mol-1 .cm-1. limits detection quantification found be 0.7770 2.3400 respectively. Accuracy precision relative error RSD they < 5% 2 Indirect analysis syrup samples successfully applied proposed method.
